Even wax dripping has its limits. While it makes the target incredibly large and near unkillable, it also forces them into an eternal state of dripping. Wick or no, this compels them to continue to gutter more and more wax if their wish to retain this power.

Big Sludge is a unit with very high damage potential, whose only drawbacks are its 2 cost, 3, and ramp up time. Big Sludge does scale extremely quickly from its Harvest ability; at an effective +10 per harvest, it scales roughly 3 times as quickly as Wickless Baron and is a fairly reliable way to deal with double heavy enemies when equipped with Multistrike. Obvious synergy with Remnant Host. It can be worth dedicating an entire floor to Big Sludge + chump blockers to ramp its damage as quickly as possible, followed by descending Big Sludge for relentless (Dripfall/Cave In), or stacking Stealth/Dazed for the boss. (Endless + Burnout Stealth tomb, Mortal Entrapment on Permafrost). Beyond taking Multistrike as an upgrade, the 2nd upgrade is often either Heartstone to make the unit more resilient against Spikes or against a boss, or a damage upgrade to assist with initial scaling. Largestone is generally not recommended, as the unit already has a high capacity that the player has to account for.
|Multi-strike is the ideal upgrade for Big Sludge, as it allows the unit to start killing heavy enemies much quicker, as well as eventually start removing two heavy units all by itself.|
