Echowright is the Exiled Champion Crown2 of the Wurmkin Clan Wurmkin.

Their Starter Card is Echo Break.

Lore[]

I suppose it should be no surprise that the Shardsouls protecting the Exiles are one and the same as the Echoes found in the Wurmkin’s care. I’d understood the trapping of souls to be Talos’ idea, and that still seems accurate, but the transfer of knowledge back out of these shards was created millennia ago by now extinct Kinhost intelligence. Was the Echowright’s voluntary Exile a sort of last stand? Or part of something larger?

Strategy[]

The Shellsmith[]

With this path, look to set up Echowright on a crowded, powerful floor to get the most Armor per Etch. Bog Fly is a particularly notable companion because of their low capacity requirement and high offensive power with a good Charged Echoes generator, and Echowright in turn provides them with some staying power along with his own high Attack power.

If you cannot find a Bog Fly, Bog Chrysalis or other suitable companion, or even if you do and just want even more offensive firepower, consider cross-pathing with The Marshlord to get a Bog Chrysalis to put in front of Echowright to hatch into Bog Fly.

The Marshlord[]

The ability summons an egg in front of him, so be aware of that when placing. Note that you don't need to have Capacity to fit the egg - take advantage of this and place Echowright last on his floor to overstack the floor with his egg. Drafting another egg allows you to double-dip on his Etch ability, too. That being said, invest in Charged Echoes too - if eggs are your core strategy, you need them to hatch very quickly to avoid allowing the first few waves to waltz to your Pyre!

Finally, when upgrading, consider how the new egg and hatched unit fits with your floor; sometimes it may be better to cross-path to keep the current one if your setup fits the existing egg better! For example, each egg takes successively more Capacity, if you're looking to play a character after playing Echowright. 2 Bog Flys might be better than one Kinhost Pupa. Maybe Kinhost Pupa's applied Reap is key to your strategy and you don't actually Etch often enough to justify Bog Wurmling. Both the Repeater and Shellsmith lines can provide solid utility to a stacked row with eggs too.

The Repeater[]

The ability to bring back Consumed spells is powerful but because of his low HP he is very vulnerable, especially at higher covenant levels; Since his ability returns a random Consume spell, it's usually a good idea to either focus on one (or two, if you stay committed to this upgrade line) really strong Consume spells. Wurmkin Etchings is a minor exception to this - Echowright can be used to bring back Wurmkin Etchings while Wurmkin Etchings brings back other cards. Be sure to count cards carefully! He synergizes well with most clans as there are many strong Consume cards - Onehorn's Tome, Awoken's Rail Spike, Ember Cache, or Urchin Spines.

Once you've found a good synergy with The Repeater, it can be worth staying on this path to get the ability to get 2 spells back - at the very least, you can copy your strong Consume spell to get a second spell to repeat. If copying your repeated spell doesn't really make sense, or you find yourself drifting into a different strategy that doesn't revolve around your repeated spell, cross-pathing, particularly into Shellsmith, can absolutely make sense as well.
