Inferno is a Hellhorned Card in Monster Train.
Lore[]
The Scorched Planes are known for frequent firestorms that can rain down at any moment, striking anyone unlucky enough to be caught below. This has made my travels through it particularly short.
Strategy[]
Inferno is a very high-impact spell and can single-handedly solve your waveclear for a run. This is due to the fact that it deals massive Piercing damage, ignoring Spell Shield,
Damage Shield, and
Armor when played, which lets it heavily damage almost every enemy unit in a wave (if not outright one-shot them), allowing your units on another floor to easily pick them off. Its high cost can easily be mitigated by visiting a Merchant of Magic and applying
Emberstone upgrades to it to make it more playable, with its powerful effect being well worth the investment.
The main drawback, the fact that it also damages one's own units, can be mitigated by simply playing the spell on a floor empty on the player's side. Alternatively, this card can be used to clear out friendly units, whether to free up , activate
Extinguish effects, or to replay said units with
Endless or Reform.
Suggested Upgrades[]

Inferno is often either a really good card or a really bad card depending on your train layout, and if it's a good card, you want to play it every time you draw it. Bringing down its otherwise difficult-to-afford cost lets you do that. |

Inferno can be really strong if you can play it every turn on a floor, decimating most enemies without putting your units in harm's way with correct placement. However, this upgrade requires support to work because of the high 3![]() ![]() ![]() |
