Onehorn's Tome is a Hellhorned Card and a Tome in Monster Train.

Lore[]

"Hell's Horns, History of he Hellhorned," by Grrrg Onehorn. The terrible handwriting of the imp scribes has made this tome an excruciating read and something I don't plan on returning to soon.

Strategy[]

Multistrike is an extremely powerful status effect on units that have high Attack or a potent Strike/Slay effect, but the Fragile effect is a significant downside. Even when placed behind a tank, a Fragile unit will die instantly to any enemy with Sweep or Spikes unless it has enough Armor or stacks of Damage Shield to avoid losing health.

Onehorn's Tome is one of the few ways to get Multistrike on a Champion. In particular, Hornbreaker Prince's Wrathful line benefits from Onehorn's Tome immensely, thanks to it gaining Armor with every Slay. Extra attacks mean more opportunities to gain Armor; three extra Slays from the Multistrike will always grant more Armor than the HP "lost" to the Fragile debuff, allowing him to survive longer while also doubling his damage output.

Suggested Upgrades[]

Upgrade Description
Emberstone is very good on Onehorn's Tome if you do not have Volatile Gauge and/or Ember generation that allows you to play it with high cost.
Removing Consume from Onehorn's Tome can be extremely potent. The Fragile effect is no additional downside on a unit that already has Fragile, and thus stacking more and more Multistrike is very strong. Keep in mind that the Ember increase needs to be prepared for.
Stackstone is very potent on Onehorn's Tome, as this means you will get two additional strikes out of a single spell cast. Keep in mind that the Ember increase needs to be prepared for.

History[]

See: Version History

Before the addition of Fragile in Wild Mutations, the card was considered one of the best cards in the game.

Version Changes
1.0.0 Added Onehorn's Tome.
1.1.2 Adds Fragile to the target. Now only targets friendly units.
