For Overworld Events, see: Overworld Events
The Rings of Hell (or Rings) are the different sections of the game. There are 9 rings in total.
Each ring contains a number of Event locations which provide beneficial effects. There is a small amount of randomness as to which events appear in a run.
Rings after the first have two branching paths, and you may only visit the locations on one side. Selecting an event (or moving to either branch) causes the other side's events to become inaccessible. Some rings also have a central location at the bottom which may be accessed from either path.
Gameplay alternates between Overworld Events and Battles. The overworld events are focused around improving your deck and resources while the enemies are encountered in the Battles. Which events and battles will be encountered depends on the ring and chosen path. Moving to the Battle icon will trigger a Battle with one of the available Bosses for the respective ring. When defeated, they will drop spoils like coins, two selections of three cards (one per clan) and other components beneficial to your run. Once a battle has been fought, the previous events will be inaccessible.
Limbo[]
This wasteland has always been the desolate crossing into Hell. It serves as a buffer, the first Ring of Hell, and the only separation from Heaven. The ice only turned an endless desert into an endless tundra.

These sharp cliffs have led to the demise of many souls. Most who come to Hell hope to bring their previous wealth, but material riches make navigation of the treacherous cliffside path a dangerous affair.

Bogwurm's Remains[]
Said to be among the great Titans that formed the Rings of Hell, the Bogwurm had long since died by the time I began to build the Rail. The Bogwurm's remains have created a Ring full of waste and ruin, perfect for the inhabitants of Hell.
For the clan, see: Wurmkin
Gameplay
There are 2 event slots on each side. There is one shared event slot, which is always a Concealed Caverns.
One random slot is guaranteed to be a Unit Banner. It will always be one of the bottom slots.
The remaining three slots are randomly selected from Hellvent, Herzal's Hoard, Pyre Remains, Merchant of Magic, and Merchant of Steel. The second Unit Banner is possible but rare. Forgotten Boons, Unstable Vortex, and Merchant of Trinkets cannot appear.
With the The Last Divinity DLC, either a Divine Boons, Divine Hoard, or Divine Temple will be available from both sides, letting one collect more Pact Shards.
You will fight against a random version of Daedalus or Talos. You cannot take a special trial for additional rewards. Once beaten you obtain the usual rewards and a special Boss artifact of your choice.
The possible combats for Daedalus are: Explosive Sigil | Double Barrel | Plating Seal
The possible combats for Talos are: Empowering Offense | Soul Sucker | Protective Sin
The Waxen Arches[]
Across this waxen landscape, ever-growing arches can be seen, made of the remains of the Melting Remnant souls who've climbed to the top in search of rumored wealth. The survivors built Votive Houses throughout the Ring. The houses serve as sanctuaries for those who hope to melt faster, or not to melt at all.
For the clan, see: Melting Remnant
Gameplay
There are 3 event slots on each sides. There is one shared event slot, which is always a Dark Forge.
These events are guaranteed:
- Unit Banner
- This is always for the other clan than the guaranteed banner in the previous ring. There is never a second banner in this ring. This is the last Unit Banner on the map; no banners can appear on any later rings.
- Unstable Vortex
- Forgotten Boons
- Pyre Remains
Concealed Caverns and Merchant of Trinkets cannot appear.
With the The Last Divinity DLC, either a Divine Boons, Divine Hoard, or Divine Temple will be available from both sides, letting one collect more Pact Shards.
You will fight a random Battle. The possible combats are:
Clipped Infiltration | Protectors of the Clipped | Clipped Guard | Clipped Tormenters
Frozen Styx Sea[]
The Stygian Guard protects the depths of Hell from their post underneath the Styx Sea. Now frozen, the sea is covered in ice, trapping the Unnamed Titan within. The Unnamed Titan still sleeps for now, but as the ice melts, it will not stay trapped forever.
For the clan, see: Stygian Guard
Gameplay
There are 3 event slots on each sides.
This is the first ring where Merchant of Trinkets can appear. There is never a Unit Banner. Events are otherwise random. Forgotten Boons, Pyre Remains, and Concealed Caverns appear more frequently than other options but are not guaranteed.
With the The Last Divinity DLC, either a Divine Boons, Divine Hoard, or Divine Temple will be available from both sides, letting one collect more Pact Shards.
You will fight a random Battle. The possible combats are:
The Sycophants of Seraph | The Harpy's Guard | Hidden Assault | Harvesters of Death
The Wildwood[]
Massive vines took root within this Ring, creating the massive Wildwood Forest that exists today. This living forest traps unsuspecting victims within its vines to absorb their souls into its hivemind of the Awoken.
For the clan, see: Awoken
Gameplay

The possible combats for Fel are: Eternal Crest | Scouring Crest | Wrath Crest
The possible combats for Archus are: Sin of Darkness | Sin of Shadow | Sin of Failure
Scorched Plains[]
Formed by the Pyre's awesome might, this Ring is the volcanic homeland of the Hellhorned demons. Deep fissures reveal the untold strength of the Pyre that tore them open. In these war-torn plains, the Winged invasion destroyed the last resistance of Hell in the battle now known as Armageddon.
For the clan, see: Hellhorned
Gameplay
There are 3 event slots on each sides. There is one shared event slot, which is always a Dark Forge.
Forgotten Boons, Pyre Remains, and Concealed Caverns are each extremely likely to appear, but none of them are guaranteed. Hellvent is rare. This ring has the highest change of Merchant of Trinkets appearing in a random slot; it is still less common than other events.
With the The Last Divinity DLC, either a Divine Boons, Divine Hoard, or Divine Temple will be available from both sides, letting one collect more Pact Shards.
You will fight a random Battle. The possible combats are:
The Pyrewings | The Winged Horde | The Penitent | Conduit Masters | The Shadewings

For the clan, see: Umbra
Gameplay

The middle slots are guaranteed to be Merchant of Steel and Merchant of Magic. The remaining slots are always Hellvent, Unstable Vortex, Forgotten Boons, and Pyre Remains, in some permutation.
With the The Last Divinity DLC, either a Divine Boons, Divine Hoard, or Divine Temple will be available from both sides, letting one collect more Pact Shards.
You will fight a random version of Seraph. You cannot take a special trial for additional rewards. Once beaten you will directly go to the next ring. The possible combats are:
Seraph the Temperant | Seraph the Chaste | Seraph the Diligent | Seraph the Patient
The Frozen Heart[]
Once the glowing seat of the Pyre, the heart of Hell has become a frozen reminder of the invasion and the destruction of the Pyre. Seraph sits on the extinguished remains, awaiting our return and hoping to wipe us out for good.
Gameplay
Once you beat the 8th battle, the Boneshaker arrives to the last ring of hell and your Pyre will reignite the Frozen Heart. The screen will then fade to black and you will be shown the Run Summary. Congratulations, you won!
However, if you have at least 100, you will be confronted by one final combat: The Last Divinity: Divine Intervention.
