Teeth of Gold is an Artifact of the Umbra Clan Umbra in Monster Train.

Lore[]

On the rare occasion that a member of the Shroud has lost their teeth, sharp dentures are created from Crucible gems. Due to their high value, this has led to many Umbra intentionally removing their teeth.

Strategy[]

Teeth of Gold can provide some back-line removal to compliment your hard-hitting, Morsel-eating frontline. In the early game, without Pact Shards, 3 damage is enough to kill most backline enemies, and even late-game, assuming your Eater is eating two or more morsels, Teeth of Gold should be able to finish off backline enemies.

However, Teeth of Gold is held back by the fact that it usually activates after combat when Morsels are eaten, not before - so any backline enemies that it kills will still get to attack (and some of those enemies, like Shadewings, deal high damage). Feast and Morsel-Made, however, can allow Teeth of Gold to activate before combat, allowing it to prevent such enemies' attacks.

Teeth of Gold's damage is also ultimately not very high, meaning that if you have another way to handle low-HP backline threats, Teeth of Gold doesn't do much against Armor-class or Heavy-class enemies, and certainly not bosses. If you take an Armor trial, Teeth of Gold will also fail to do much even against the normally-frail back liners.

Finally, if you are playing the DLC and taking Pact Shards, most enemies will have too much health for Teeth of Gold to really matter, severely diminishing its value.
